I sort of got that the interviewer says that most people could only understand two words of the lyrics (?), and then Plastic himself explains that the name Plastic Bertrand came from when he was 2 years old and liked the plastic that came with a gift that he got, and after that he called everything "plastic".     THIS IS the original. well this is a live version for a tv program obviously. but Plastic Bertrand did the FIRST version of the song. MOTELLO played the guitar for Plastic recording sessions. he recorded his own version right after. but Plastic was in the charts as early as 1977. at least in France & Belgium! so he did the original!

    No, Bertrand was the drummer on Elton Motello's track. After "Jet Boy Jet Girl" was recorded, Bertrand used Motello's musicians to record his track. The producer and lyricist at RKM Publishing at the time deemed the original song's lyrics too controversial to be adapted, so Yvan Lacomblez created the stew of words that became "Ça plane pour moi' to the tune of "Jet Boy Jet Girl".
