    The whole blackberry bit is somewhat ridiculous. The on/off switch is a sort of circuit breaker to keep your battery from drying out. If the button is off no juice flows to the rest of the phone NSA or no NSA. If the phone is on already then it could act on received commands like a certain software que to turn on the microphone So , switch if off and you can talk safely (if you are worried that is)
