    This series was very very disapointing and I have read several books on John Adams. Paul Giamatti, who is a great actor was an awful choice for the lead role.

    Excellent historical drama. It gives you all the reasons why these figures and their era was significant and exciting and yet gives you that candid, unromantic aspect that truly accompanies ever human endeavor before the glaze of romanticism sets in. The Principles have their respectibility and their worts, which is better than making them all near-perfect. Something more engrossing about watching IMperfect people achieving great things under circumstances that even they find overwhelming.

    This is a drama. If you want to discover what happened in the past read vast amounts of history. Only then can you arrive at an idea of the truth. Even then it will only be the truth as filtered through your own prejudices and desires. I was entertained by this drama - but it can never be called history.

    OK. Now that I've heard it on The Duchess trailer, I'm positive that it is Diem Ex Dei by Globus on their Epicon album--except the Globus version is choral. When you listen to the sample on iTunes, it doesn't sound like the song you are mentioning, but it is. It is a glorious song and well worth the .99 cents.
